Hello!

My name is Julia, and I am a rising senior at the University of Southern California pursuing a B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising at USC Annenberg’s School of Communication and Journalism and a B.A. in Comparative Literature at the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, as well as a minor in Fashion through the Roski School of Art and Design.

Outside my coursework, I enjoy reading (cliched, but I love any sort of generational-saga-familial-legacy type novel, shoutout Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, or a good memoir) and journaling. I’m always looking for new things to do, and have recently been super invested in playing the harmonica (this was of course inspired by Bob Dylan’s ability to play the harmonica and piano simultaneously, as I am also a classically trained pianist).

That same inquisitiveness shapes my professional outlook: Academically, I’ve been exploring the intersections of media, design and culture through an interdisciplinary course load that spans studio art, marketing and advertising fundamentals, critical theory, copywriting and journalism.

At USC, I am a part of the Daily Trojan (formerly an Associate Managing Editor, Opinion and Chief Copy Editor), and lead communications strategy as Head of Communications at the Fashion Industry Association — two roles that have sharpened both my editorial eye and my ability to build community around culture, as well as style and self-expression.

In the future, I hope to channel this mix of creativity and strategy into a career in intellectual property law, particularly within entertainment and media. I hope to observe how legal frameworks will evolve to protect artists and creators in an age that is increasingly shaped by new technologies like AI. Whether it’s music, fashion or film, the common thread is clear: ensuring that all creative work is both celebrated and protected.
